Postgraduate & Research Manager
Short Bio
Mieke is the Postgraduate and Research Manager at the Department of Process Engineering, Stellenbosch University, and has been employed in this position since 2016. She oversees all postgraduate programmes and related administration in the Department throughout the postgraduate lifecycle, and is further responsible for steering marketing, electronic and social media, and industry/alumni communication, amongst other responsibilities. With more than 10 years’ experience in the South African higher education sector, she has had the privilege of working at the University of the Free State (2011 – 2015) and North-West University (2015 – 2016) before joining Stellenbosch University.
She obtained her BA Drama degree (2011), Postgraduate Certificate in Education (2012) and BA Honours degree (2013) at the University of the Free State and is currently completing her MPhil in Higher Education, with a research focus on the postgraduate student experience.
